Jan Atkin Prize

The Jan Atkin Prize fund was established by Emeritus Professor Brian Atkin, who was the CEO of the University of Nottingham Malaysia between 2003 and 2008. He established the fund in 2012, in the memory of his late wife, Jan Atkin. Jan was actively involved with UNM students during her time in Malaysia. Following donations made in 2012 and 2013, the first awards were selected by the end of July 2014 and presented to students by the end of September 2014. Annually, three students are awarded a prize of RM5,000 and a certificate, respectively.

Vice-Chancellor's Medal

The Vice-Chancellor's Medal (VC Medal) award was introduced in 2015, as a continuation from the success of the Vice-Chancellor's Achievement Award. The Medal is for the recognition of exceptional achievements by staff or students at the University. The criterion for the award includes exceptional achievement in any arena; notable endeavour which has made a difference to the University; a substantive contribution which has enhanced the reputation of University of Nottingham and activity which has had a noticeably positive impact on students, staff or the local community.
