Semenyih, 5 November 2025 — The University of Nottingham Malaysia proudly hosted the “A Global Community of Shared Future” Youth Brainstorming Workshop, the third stop of this National Workshop Campus Tour. The event gathered more than 150 passionate and forward-thinking students to exchange ideas and envision a shared global future.
The workshop was organised by the School of Politics, International Relations and Economics (SPIRE) and the Department of Student Recruitment, in collaboration with the Southeast Asia Research Centre for Humanities (SEARCH) and supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia. It served as an engaging platform for young people to exchange ideas, strengthen mutual understanding, and explore innovative pathways for regional and global cooperation.
Celebrating the long-standing friendship between Malaysia and China, the event highlighted shared values of openness, inclusivity, and cultural dialogue. Throughout the workshop, participants took part in activities such as cross-border commodity trading simulations, role-playing public–private stakeholder partnerships, navigating cultural differences in international collaboration, and brainstorming strategies for sustainable infrastructure development and governance. These sessions encouraged students to think critically about global interdependence and to design creative approaches for building a more connected, equitable, and resilient future.
The workshop’s vibrant discussions showcased the creativity, insight, and leadership potential of the participants, who demonstrated a deep awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing their generation. Their enthusiasm and active engagement reaffirmed the importance of empowering youth voices in advancing regional dialogue and fostering international collaboration.
