About psychology

Why study psychology?

Over the past two decades psychology has become one of the most popular degrees in the world, leading to a diverse range of well paid careers.

Psychology provides an impressive range of skills that are highly desirable to employers, making psychology graduates some of the most employable, and least likely to be unemployed of any degree subject.

Psychology is a highly diverse, fascinating subject that helps us to understand the ways in which our minds, brains, relationships and societies work. Our foundation, BSc, and postgraduate courses cover a range of interesting topics including:

  • our perceptions, thoughts, feelings & actions from infancy to old age
  • the dynamics of groups, organisations & societies
  • brain structure & function
  • the identification & understanding of mental & developmental disorders
