Management and Ecology of Malaysian Elephants

This theme reflects a collaboration between University of Nottingham Malaysia and Department of Wildlife and National Parks of Peninsular Malaysia (PERHILITAN). Through this collaboration, we are developing an evidence-based approach to the conservation of Asian elephants in Peninsular Malaysia. More specifically, our objectives are to: 

• build local capacity in conservation science and practice 
• conduct useful research for elephant conservation 
• create public awareness and interest for elephant conservation in Malaysia 
• inform local authorities on conservation issues
