Malaysian alumni

A proud tradition

Several thousands of students from Malaysia have studied at The University of Nottingham since it gained University status in 1948 and there are currently over 750 students from Malaysia studying at the University.

The University has maintained close relations with former students through Persatuan Siswazah Nottingham, and through personal connections, academic exchanges and research links.

Prominent Malaysian graduates

Many prominent members of Malaysian society are Nottingham graduates, including former Agongs, politicians, ambassadors and leaders of business and industry:

  • The late DYMM Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-lah, former Sultan of Perak
  • The late DYMM Tuanku Ja’afar Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman, former Yang Di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan
