NUBS Malaysia’s faculty members featured in speaking engagements

  • Assistant Professor of Information Systems, Dr Kenny Wong Meng Seng, presented his research paper
    A Grid and Group Cultural Theory Analysis of E-Government Uptake in Malaysia at the PSA 64th Annual International Conference. The conference – which was held in Manchester, UK, from 14-16 April 2014 –
    was attended by 
    25 participants.
  • Dr Maniam Kaliannan, Associate Professor of Human Resources Management, presented his research paper on Evaluating KMS in Simulated Environments: Information Systems to Support Disaster Management Challenges at the 11th International Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management. The conference was held in Pennsylvania, USA from 18-21 May 2014 and was attended by
    over 500 academics 
    from various countries around the world.
  • Mr Michael Mustafa, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, presented two research papers on Family Firm Internationalisation at the IFERA 2014 Annual Conference in Lappeenranta,
    Finland. The conference was held from 23-27 June 2014 and was attended by over 300 academics. 
  • University Teaching Fellow in Financial Economics, Ms Priscilla Lim, presented her research paper Bank Integration: The Gap in Asia-Pacific Financial Integration at the 16th Malaysian Finance Association Conference 2014. The conference was held from 4-6 June 2014 in Kuala Lumpur and was attended by
    200 over 
    participants, including members of the Malaysian Finance Association and representatives from
    the Asian 
    Finance Association.
  • Dr Carol Hooi, Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and Organisation Behaviour, was
    invited to act as Visiting Professor at the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines from 23 April-22 May 2014. Dr Hooi taught the leadership module Managing People and Organisation which was attended
    by 65 students. 
  • Associate Professor of Accounting, Dr Lau Chee Kwong, was invited by the Malaysian Institute of
    Accountants (MIA) to conduct a two-day public course on International Financial Reporting Standards
    for accounting academics. The course on 14-15 April 2014 and was attended by 30 participants
    including academics from various education institutions.
