What do UNM graduates do

The Careers Advisory Service conducts a bi-annual Graduate Destination Survey (GDS), the official survey for destinations of all UNM graduates.

Latest figures show that, among the 1023 students who graduated and responded to the survey in February 2021 and July 2021, about more than 85% graduates have either gained employment, furthered their education or attended skills enhancement programmes after graduation.

Leading graduate employers include Accenture, CIMB, Crystal Group, Daikin, Ernst & Young, Experian, Huawei, IBM Malaysia, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Juries Technologies, Keyence, Maybank, Mondelez, Motorola Solutions, Nestle, OCBC Bank, PwC, Public Bank, Royal Bank of Canada, Shell, Top Glove and Wipro Unza.

What you can do with your major

Take heed that some of the career choices you are considering today may change after you graduate. Your degree discipline is only a piece of who you are and what you can offer to the employer.

It is also your life experience and knowledge gained outside the classroom that would equip you with a set of transferable skills that can be used in a variety of careers which may not be related to your degree subjects at all.

In fact, the degree discipline you choose does not limit you to a handful of careers. It is likely to offer you many incredible options not listed here. Exploring those options across a number of job sectors may provide you with an understanding of your own unique abilities, weaknesses and career interests.
