Saizi joins the School of Economics, University of Nottingham Malaysia in July 2022. Prior to this, she worked as a Research Fellow at Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER). With the GRAS Scholarship under the High Impact Research (HIR) Program of Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Malaysia, Saizi completed her PhD in Development Economics at University of Malaya. So far, she has been studying, living and working in Malaysia for more than ten years. Before moving to Kuala Lumpur, she obtained her Master Degree in Development Studies from Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, UK.
Beyond academic research, Saizi has been leading or engaged in various consulting projects for Malaysian government agencies such as Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and for international organizations such as UNDP, OIC and ASEAN Secretariat.

Her media presence covers a wide spectrum of vital issues, such as national budget, regional economic outlooks, labor market reforms, social protection schemes, and industrial digital transformation.
