Identifying and Understanding Special Educational Needs

About the workshop

This workshop aims to help professionals within the educational field to understand the concept of disability and identify those with special educational needs. You will be introduced to characteristics of specific categories of disability and some educational programmes designed to meet the needs of school-age students with disabilities. 

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be able to: 

  • understand what is meant by special educational needs
  • develop an appreciation of the relationship between theory and the practice of curriculum implementation for students with special needs
  • observe students’ unique educational needs
