Heartiest congratulations to our colleague at SMLC, Ms Gayathry Venkiteswaran, for being awarded a grant (amounting to RM60k) under the Democracy Discourse Series to conduct a study on ‘Promoting digital media literacy and political awareness for youths in Selangor, Malaysia’. This 18-month project commenced on 2 September 2019. This award meaned a great achievement for the School and the University, especially in terms of research and knowledge exchange (RKE) achievements. Gaya has also advised that a portion of the funds will go towards recruiting UNM/SMLC students as Research Assistants, which will further strengthen our school’s research culture/portfolio.
The project will be supported by the Centre for the Study of Communications and Culture (under the School of Media, Languages and Cultures).
