Asia Research Institute Malaysia

The mission of the University of Nottingham's Asia Research Institute is to bring together the University of Nottingham’s world-leading research and expertise on Asia and to link up researchers working across interdisciplinary boundaries across all three of the University of Nottingham's campuses. The institute also aims to support and co-ordinate postgraduate research to enhance understanding of the Asia and Pacific region.

Our objectives are to:

  • promote advanced research in the humanities and social sciences,
  • support and co-ordinate postgraduate teaching and enhance understanding of the Asia-Pacific across the University of Nottingham and in the broader community

An Asia Expertise Guide is your gateway to approximately 200 University of Nottingham academics whose world-leading research and specialist knowledge is focused on the major challenges and opportunities in Asia.

Our experts, based in Malaysia, as well as on our UK and China campuses, have long standing engagements with practitioners and partners in the region, as well as those agencies and organisations with interests in Asia. All of these experts are interested in working with policymakers, with the media, with industry and with other researchers on developing opportunities and aim to increase dialogue with, and to make an impact on, important debates within the region. Please do reach out and get in touch.
