Biography

Born and bred in Kuala Lumpur, Dorcas has been teaching at universities in the United States and Malaysia since 2012. She has developed a passion for language and literature since young and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in English (Literature) from the United States.

Dorcas enjoys dissecting writings and discussing themes in literary works. She had also managed the Business Writing Centre at Oklahoma State University and would like to investigate how the concept of the Writing Centre and the Writing Across the Curriculum initiative can be adopted to produce better writers in Malaysia. She has pioneered one-to-one writing consultation service at the University of Nottingham.

  1. Writing needs among postgraduate students
  2. Perception of writing among foundation students
  3. Religiosity and the experience of singleness in Malaysia
