Biography

Hazel Ng Jin May is an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the School of Languages at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. She teaches Spanish language modules from Stage 1 to Stage 3 for students enrolled in the International Communications Studies and International Relations with Spanish programmes.

She holds a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, Mexico, and a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Linguistics (Spanish) from the University of Malaya. She is also an accredited examiner for the Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) at levels A1/A2 and B1/B2.

In addition, she earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from the University of Nottingham and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a professional recognition awarded by Advance HE, UK.

Her research interests include language pedagogy, particularly Spanish as a Foreign Language (Español como Lengua Extranjera, ELE), second and foreign language acquisition, morphosyntax, and semantics.
