Dr. Omair Haroon is an accomplished academic currently serving as an Associate Professor at Nottingham University Business School, University of Nottingham Malaysia. Dr. Omair earned PhD in Accounting from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. Dr Omair qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and Chartered Certified Accountant from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK).
Dr. Omair has worked at Lahore University of Management Sciences where he served as the Director of the Masters Programme in Accounting and Analytics and coordinator of Accounting and Finance area group. He taught a range of courses including accounting, financial reporting, finance, governance, and management accounting, catering to both undergraduate and graduate programs. He has authored several case studies including those in Islamic Accounting and Finance.
Dr. Omair's research interests primarily focus on the behavioral aspects of financial markets. His work explores how market participants' behavior influences risk, return, volatility, and other critical market dynamics.
Beyond the classroom, Dr. Omair actively contributed to executive development programmes. These programmes cater to a diverse audience and cover topics such as Public Sector Financial Management, Advanced Corporate Finance, Project Budgeting, and Financial Planning and Analysis. He served as a member of Digital Accounting & Assurance Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
