Mental health advisory service

A free and confidential service for students and staff

The University of Nottingham Malaysia supports students and staff with concerns of mental health and wellbeing.

Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression can affect anyone at any point in their lives. If you or someone you know may be having mental health issues it can be frightening and isolating. It's what you do about these problems that can make all the difference, and we have the services to help.

For enquiries about the service and appointment, please contact the general line to be connected the University wellbeing office.

How can we help?

We provide assessments to understand the issue and level of support needed, one-to-one support, referral letters to internal and external support professionals and increased awareness and response to mental health issues within the University.

Common mental health problems and the symptoms

  • Anxiety 
    - Feeling on edge
    - Racing heart
    - Nervous habits
    - Trembling
    - Tiredness

  • Depression
    - Avoiding friends
    - No appetite
    - Low energy
    - Intense sadness
    - Irritable     

Confidentiality

We are a confidential service and will seek your permission before making any appointments with a psychiatrist or other health professionals if needed. However, If we feel you are at significant risk to yourself or others, it will override the right to confidentiality and the relevant services will be contacted.
