On 16 May 2026, the Nottingham School of Pharmacy celebrated its 100-year anniversary at the Great Hall, University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM). The school also celebrates its 20 years of impact in Malaysia with valued partners, alumni, colleagues, and students.
According to UNM alumna and the Head of School of Pharmacy, Professor Ting Kang Nee, the theme of the event—Health, Heritage & Horizons—truly reflects the school’s journey in advancing healthcare, grounding in strong traditions, as well as looking boldly ahead.
“As a proud alumna and founding academic of over 21 years at the Malaysia campus, I am honoured to have helped build this legacy,” says Professor Ting Kang Nee.

The event was made even more special as it was graced by the presence of Professor Barrie Kellam, the Head of School of Pharmacy in University of Nottingham.
His presence reinforces the school’s global roots and a true One School ethos across all three of Nottingham’s campuses, especially since the event is also blessed by the presence of notable alumni whose experiences reflect how their time with the school built the foundation for their impactful and successful careers.
Furthermore, everything is tied together in the shape of a commemorative cake—it bears books for heritage and knowledge, a mortar and pestle for health, and a forward design that symbolises the school’s shared horizons.

This celebration showcases how much Nottingham’s School of Pharmacy shapes future pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and biomedical scientists who will make a difference in the world. This is showcased throughout the event as we welcomed four alumni guests from the school who shared their experiences with the audience.
