As an international student there are a number of things you will have to do when you first arrive at The University of Nottingham Malaysia.

These include:

  • registering for your accommodation
  • reporting to the International Student Support 
  • student registration
  • welcome programmes & induction

Step 1 - Accommodation

When you arrive go straight to the Accommodation Office to check-in to your accommodation....  

  • Go straight to the Accommodation Office
  • Proof of accommodation fee payment is required upon check-in. Alternatively, pay in cash when checking-in
  • Collect your keys, a check list and a form
  • Go through the checklist when you enter your room
  • Inspect your room/flat/house and make sure it is in good condition. If not, immediately report to the Accommodation Office
  • Read the terms, rules and regulations in the form
  • Agree to abide by the rules and regulations and to stay for the allocated period by signing the Check-in Form
  • Submit the completed Check-in Form back to the Accommodation Office

Step 2 - International Student Support

After settling in to your accommodation you will then need to report to the International Student Support...

  • After settling in to your accommodation, report to the International Student Support
  • Register and make your health test appointment prior to your health check. This compulsory test must be done within seven days immediately after your arrival in Malaysia.
  • Get a letter for opening a bank account from the International Student Support 
  • Sign up for:KL Tour and welcome events.( Subject to change )

Step 3 - Registration

After attending the International Student Support you will need to register with the University...

Registration takes place at the start of each new academic year. Students have to sign a registration form which is your agreement to observe the University regulations, please refer to the registration timetable in order to know when and where you should proceed for registration.

The registration check list is important to ensure that you have been through a proper and complete registration process.

Step 4 - Welcome Programme

As a new international students you will be required to attend two University welcome programmes...

It is compulsory for all new International Students to attend the following welcome programmes.

  • Induction for all new students
  • Induction for new international students

The induction programme will cover all aspects of living and studying in Malaysia including:

  • immigration laws
  • health insurance & medical treatment
  • counselling
  • transportation
  • emergency advice

International Student Support Services

The International Student Support Office is responsible to assist all international students. We provide essential documentation such as letters on living expenses and invitations for visas and opening bank accounts.

We welcome visits from international students and can advise you on the professional support services offered by The University of Nottingham Malaysia.
