Here's a list of the usual drill for Accommodation Office.

Is accommodation guaranteed?

While we want to offer all students accommodation throughout the academic year, unfortunately space is limited. Thus, priority will be given to students coming to the Malaysian Campus for the first time in the following order:

  •   International students
  •   East Malaysians
  •   Malaysians from outside the Klang Valley 

You are advised to submit your request as early as possible to improve your chances of getting the room type you prefer. All new first-time students are guarenteed availability of on-campus accommodation, except for late applicants. 
What happens when I cannot get my preferred accommodation?

Firstly, do your part by applying early and observing deadlines in securing accommodation. In short, the sooner, the better! To-date, we have been successful in placing student on and off-campus. It takes us a one weeks to sort things out so if you don't hear from us right away, that's because we're hard at work for you!

In the event that you do not receive any kind of confirmation or response from us after one weeks of submitting your application, then do get in touch with us to see what's up.

Also, if you submit your application late and cannot get your preferred room-type, please be prepared to accept what is available to prevent further delay. We will notify you of what we can offer, along with relevant information to secure your room.

How and when do I apply for accommodation?

You can submit your application for a room, the moment you have submitted your application for a course. Progressing and continuing students are encourage to apply before the end of their semester or academic year.

You should apply for accommodation as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Please just complete ONE application. You will receive an email shortly, confirming that your submission has been successful. If you do not hear from us within one weeks from the date submission, please get in touch with us.

What happens if I miss the application deadline?
For Foundation and First year undergraduate applicants, we will do our best to find you a room. At this stage, options will be limited so please be prepared to accept what is available to prevent further delay.

Progressing and continuing students are encourage to apply before the end of their semester or academic year.
What's available for students with special needs?
There are wheelchair-accessible rooms which have adapted to suit your needs. Just let us know beforehand so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
When will I know what have I been offered?
Allocations are made based on the date of your application. It takes Accommodation Office about one weeks to process all the applications, so do not worry if you do not hear from us straight away. We will send you your room offer as soon as we can.
How do I pay for my accommodation fee?
To secure the room, make the advance room rental first. Full instructions will be made available in the payment schedule when we issue your room offer.
What's included in my accommodation fee?

For the Halls of Residence, the rental fees include utilities (electricity and water). However, please note that for single rooms with en suite bathroom and AC, there is a separate meter for air-conditioning usage chargeable to student on a monthly basis. 

When can I move in to my accommodation?
This is be indicated in your offer letter. It is typically the weekend before the term starts. If you're unable to move in during the specified time-frame, please let us know to make alternative arrangements. 
What do I need to bring with me?
If you are living in on campus, most things will be provided as the residence halls are fully-furnished. The extra items you may need on top of your personal possessions are bedding and pillows, towels, and a few essential food items to get you started.
Can I bring a car with me?
Students staying on Campus are not allowed to bring vehicle to the University and will not be issued with a vehicle permit.
Is it possible to stay in the Halls of Residence during break or holiday periods?
Please let us know as soon as possible. Please note that vacation rooms are subject to availability and rentals are higher so advance request is a must.
Do you have accommodation for families and couples?
Only limited off-campus university housing offers this option. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you arrive before your family/partner, in order to find the right accommodation prior to their arrival.
How far away is the accommodation from campus?
On average, it's all within 2 to 10-minute walk. There is also a complimentary bus shuttle service for students.
What happens if I want to move out of my accommodation before the academic year ends?
As the contract you signed to accept the room is legally binding, you will be required to still pay the rental fees in full. 

For off-campus accommodation, please liaise with your landlord/property operator as it is at their discretion. Please be reminded that the signed contract is legally binding so they reserve the right to refuse your request.
