Exploring your careers: skills to make an informed career choice

There are many different ways to explore career options. Through this module, students will discover career options linked to a range of different industrial sectors. Students will research and evaluate the career paths information in order to narrow down their list and identify the careers that students will want to pursue after graduation.  

Aims and objectives 

This module aims to develop students in:  

  • Researching various jobs available in the job market  

  • Learning different ways to research potential careers 

  • Expanding their personal network, uncovering the hidden job market and exploring alternative careers 

  • Making an informed career decision  

  • Understanding and identifying your interest, strengths, skills and values 

Requirements    

  • Open to Year 1 and Year 2 students only (excluding Final Years)
  • Students are required to attend the following compulsory virtual lectures and events:   
    • Workshop 1: 17 October 2023, Tuesday | 16:30 to 18:00 GMT+8   | F4C06 
    • Workshop 2: 24 October 2023, Tuesday | 16:30 to 18:00 GMT+8 | F4C06 
    • Workshop 3: 31 October 2023, Tuesday | 16:30 to 18:00 GMT+8 | F4C06 
We would advise interested applicants to check your timetable before registering to this NAA module. (Please take note that the workshop date might be rescheduled if needed).

  • Students are also required to complete two career development assignments and one quiz to complete the module.

    • Registration is on first come first serve basis as the seats are limited.
