Optimising your LinkedIn profile for job search success

Summary 

LinkedIn is a powerful platform for information gathering, job search as well as offering you an opportunity to be noticed early by recruiters even when you are still studying. 
 

Aims and objectives  

This module aims to help students develop a professional LinkedIn for the purpose of effective job search. 

The compulsory workshop runs as part of this module aim to support students in developing an appreciation of the value of having professional LinkedIn profile and the importance of continually improving their profile throughout their careers. 


Requirements   

  • Open to Penultimate* and Final Years** students only.
  • Students are required to attend ALL of the following virtual compulsory workshops as follow : 
    • Workshop 1 – Introduction to LinkedIn (9th February 2021 | 1630 -1830 | TEAMS)
    • Workshop 2 – Building a professional LinkedIn profile (16th February 2021 | 1630-1830 | TEAMS)
    • Workshop 3 – LinkedIn as a Career Planning Tool and Guest Speaker (9th  March 2021 | 1630-1830 | Venue TBC  

Please check your timetable before registering to this NAA module as failure to attend all compulsory workshops without valid excuses would cause you unable to pass the module. 

  • Students required to complete several LinkedIn assignments and quizzes to pass this module.   

*Penultimate – Year 2 and Year 3 (MEng/MPharm)
**Final Years – Year 3 and Year 4 (MEng/MPharm)

26 January 2021, Tuesday at 10:00 GMT+8. 

Registration is on first come first serve basis.

Note: This module is now closed for registration.  


Regulations 

  • Students are expected to attend every scheduled session for their module and engage fully in the module activities. If you are forced to miss a session please contact careers@nottingham.edu.my at the earliest opportunity.
  • The assessment for Award modules must be your own. Should you be suspected of plagiarism the standard university procedures will apply.
  • Failure to hand in assessments on time without good reason may result in a fail mark being attached to the module with no academic penalties.
