Polymer Composites Research Group

Overview

The Polymer Composites Research Group at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus is formed by a dedicated team with expertise knowledge in design, manufacture and performance optimisation of polymer and advanced fibre reinforced composites / nanocomposites. We applied fundamental principles with 'state-of-the-art' techniques to make polymer composites perform.

Our key activities include:

  • Development of novel manufacturing processes for composites
  • Materials characterisation
  • Optimisation of performance/cost-ratio in processing of thermoplastic and thermoset composites / bio-composites / nanocomposites / rubber-elastomers
  • FEA modelling relate to mechanical performance and process simulation
  • Supercritical Fluid Technology; Green Chemistry; Sustainability; Biotechnology

Group Mission

The research group combines curiosity-driven research with application-driven objectives, with the mission to lead the development of advanced fibre reinforced polymer composites or nanocomposites that are staying at the forefront of the evolution.
