Education for the community

About

This module is available to all undergraduate students who are interested, including those within the School of Education.

This is a year long module.

Are you interested in volunteering your knowledge and skills to help others? Would you like to improve your communication and leadership skills by teaching young people? 

Education for the community is a module to give you credit for volunteer teaching in the community, and for work with young people visiting campus

You will be given advice and support on lesson planning, organising educational events and working with children from experts in the School of Education. Goals & assessment

  • provide students with an opportunity to gain experience in community engagement
  • enable students to experience the challenges involved in educating diverse learners
  • help students to drive and manage a project from start to finish
  • complete a reflective journal
If you are interested, please come to the first class at BA18 on 29 October 2014, Wednesday from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.
