Student association volunteers

About this module

This module is for students who are involved in organising a student group within the Student Association, such as holding a position on the committee of a society, sports club or other student-run service.

Goals & training

The aim of this module is to give you training in the skills you will use in running a student group or being involved in long term volunteering. You will choose from a range of skills which are most relevant to your role, such as:

  • leadership
  • assertiveness
  • project management

You will attend two workshops at the beginning and end of the programme. In between you will continue to volunteer and keep a reflective log based around the skills you are developing.

You will also partake in online tutorials to support your activities and after each session you will complete an online multiple-choice reflective test to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the issues and skills covered.
