An mBL Mini Project

MBL Project-article

MyBurgerLab (mBL), co-founded by alumnus Chin Ren Yi, is offering  extensive services beyond their daily routine to those needed during Malaysia's Restricted Movement Order (RMO).

The world has been hit by the Covid-19 disease and Malaysia has imposed the RMO beginning 18 March 2020. The RMO aims to enforce social distancing, to ensure that Malaysians stay at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

MyBurgerLab, which falls under an essential service (food and beverages), has opened its restaurants, also known as labs, but only for takeaways and delivery during this time. This leads to shrinking the team size and some of the part time Geeks (staff) will be less busy and have more free time. After a discussion, the mBL team decided to come up with a project called ‘An mBL Mini Project’. The project aims to help the elderly or those who have mobility restrictions to run errands, and other tasks that maintain social distancing.

Chen said “We are grateful that we can contribute in a way to the community. It’s a small gesture on our part to give back to Malaysia.”

The services can be requested online but, there is no guarantee of a placement of an mBL Geeks to assist. This is based on the priority and Geek’s availability to take the job. The mBL will pay the Geeks if they accept the jobs.

Besides mBL, they also have other labs namely myPizzaLab and myBobaLab. Please follow their Instagram pages for the menu and awesome deals.
