Activate your new IT account
An IT account is issued to staff, students, and associates for access to a range of IT services at the University.
I am a new student
To activate your account please follow these steps:
- Go to IT Accounts
- Enter the following credentials:-
Surname: [ Enter your surname ]
Date of birth: [ Enter your date of birth. Example: If it's 5th February 2010, then enter 05/02/2010 ]
Student ID: [ Enter your student ID number. Example: 20001212 ]
- Read the Acceptable Use Policy and tick on "I have read and understood the statement..."
- Your account details will be displayed on the screen
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your security questions and answers
- Follow the on-screen instructions to change your password (this step is compulsory otherwise you may face issues logging into Moodle)
- If you get an error and are unable to proceed, please contact the IT Service Desk for assistance
I am a new staff
To activate your account please follow these steps:
- An activation email will be sent to your personal email address
- Follow the instructions in the activation email
- Read and accept the 'Acceptable Use Policy'
- Your account details will be displayed on the screen
- Follow the instructions here to change your password and set up your security questions and answers
I am a new associate
To activate your account please follow these steps:
- An activation email will be sent to your personal email address
- Follow the instructions in the activation email
- Read and accept the 'Acceptable Use Policy'
- Your account details will be displayed on the screen
- Follow the instructions here to change your password and set up your security questions and answers
Your responsibilities
You must take full responsibility for activity within your account and adhere to our IT Policies.
An IT account may also be closed if these policies have been contravened, an account has been compromised or there is a potential disciplinary or legal case against a member of the University. You are required to take appropriate care to protect your account details and passwords.
