What we are looking for 

The School of Computer Science invites strong potential candidate to apply for the available Research Assistant position, in the area of Agricultural Image Analysis and Agricultural-related Applications. 

Applicants should hold, or expect to receive soon, a First Class or high Upper Second Class Honours degree (or the equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject (e.g., Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Mathematics). A master’s level qualification would be advantageous. Candidates should have a good programming skills and strong level of mathematics and statistics. Having experience or good knowledge of image processing/analysis, computer vision and machine learning is highly desirable. Candidates should be passionate about learning new technologies and finding unconventional solutions for unconventional problems.   

What we do 

This is a research project that aims to develop a Vision-based Oil Palm Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) Identification and Localisation System for Autonomous Collection. We are using machine learning and AI models to pinpoint the location of the FFB and deploy the system to the tractor/crawler.
