Introduction

It is a great honor to extend to you an invitation to the 3rd International Conference on Water and Environment for Sustainability (ICWES 2026), scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia from the 7 to 9 April 2026. The conference is to be held alongside ASIAWATER 2026, the Region's Leading Water & Wastewater Platform for Developing Asia. The conference, themed "Water, Energy, Climate, and Sustainability: Charting the Future of Environmental Research", brings together experts and researchers to discuss and explore solutions for vital environmental issues.

All registered extended abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings with e-ISBN as in conference programme book.

After the conference, selected participants will also be invited for submitting their full paper to referred journals (IEM Journal / Water).

Author Guidelines for IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES)
  • Please note that all full papers must be submitted through the dedicated conference platform, Morressier.
  • Participants who have registered for the Scopus-indexed EES proceedings will receive an invitation link via email to submit their paper after payment is confirmed.

 Submission Guidelines:

  • Use the provided “Full Paper Template” without altering its typesetting or formatting.
  • Refer to the Author Guidelines for Conference Proceedings for full details: https://publishingsupport.iopscience.iop.org/author-guidelines-for-conference-proceedings/
  • The paper title must match the submitted abstract title. If minor changes are necessary, please notify the ICWES 2026 Organising Committee at ICWES@nottingham.edu.my before submission.
  • The recommended length is 5–12 pages, though this is not a strict limit.
  • A similarity index below 25% is required for publication. This will be verified during submission on the Morressier platform.
  • All papers will undergo peer review. Accepted papers will be published in the EES proceedings, with an expected publication date of November 2026.

Poster Presentation

  • Presenters who choose the poster format must prepare an A1-sized poster, preferably in Portrait orientation.
  • Please note that you are responsible for printing and bringing your poster to the venue, as on-site printing services will not be available.

Oral Presentation

Presenters selected for the oral format are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Presentation Duration: Each presentation must not exceed 15 minutes. We recommend planning for a 12-minute talk followed by 3 minutes for Q&A.
  • Content Format: There is no prescribed template. You may use any slide format or supporting materials appropriate for your research.
  • Mandatory Pre-Submission: You must submit your final presentation slides or materials before the conference begins. This is a mandatory requirement for all oral presenters.
  • Submission Process: Detailed instructions on how and where to submit your file(s) will be provided by the organising committee via email at a later date.

  4. A receipt will be issued after we have verified the payment.

Notes:

  • All fees include SST, lunch and dinner provided on 8th April 2026.
  • IAHR Member Discount (*): Members of the IAHR are eligible for a special discounted rate on Early Bird fee (Participation WITH Presentation)
  • Registration fee for participation WITH presentation includes the publication fee for one (1) paper.
  • Authors may submit a maximum of two (2) papers; the second paper will incur an additional fee charged under “Additional Presentation / Second Paper”.
  • Poster presenters must print and prepare their own posters according to the dimensions specified by the organisers.
    • The organisers will not provide poster printing services.
  • Accommodation and transportation are not included in the registration fees.

About ICWES

This biannual International Conference on Water and Environment for Sustainability (ICWES) was first initiated in 2022, concurrently with the ASIAWATER, the region’s leading international water and wastewater event in Asia. This conference offers a good platform to bring together leading experts from academia, research institutions, industries, companies, non-government organisations, and government agencies to share recent scientific knowledge, management approaches, science and engineering solutions in addressing the world's pressing water and environmental issues.
