Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)
Description
A non-competitive government loan offered to students pursuing Undergraduate courses in Malaysia.
Eligibility
  • Malaysian citizen
  • Obtained an unconditional offer letter to pursue an undergraduate course
  • Applicant is not currently the recipient of any other scholarship or financial aid from other organisations
  • Applicants are subject to the ‘means test’ for family income verification and the course pursued

  • Obtain CGPA 2.0 or equivalent in each academic year
  • Status is active in each academic year
Application process
  1. Open a personal savings account at Affin Bank.
  2. Open Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN) account at PTPTN website. Minimumum amount RM20. 
  3. Purchase a PIN number at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) or through the PTPTN website. Each pin costs RM5
  4. Login into the PTPTN website and apply online

MARA TESP (Tertiary Education Sponsorship Programme)
Description
MARA TESP is a financial aid offered to Bumiputera students pursuing undergraduate courses in selected areas of studies at the listed universities in Malaysia.
Eligibility
  • Malaysian citizen
  • Applicant and one of the parent are Bumiputera
  • Applicant and parent/guardian are not blacklisted by MARA
  • Applicant have never received education financing for the same level of studies
  • Age of applicant not exceeding 40 years old upon application
  • Applicant with health issue must provide a report from authorised doctor confirming student is medically fit to study
  • Meet the family socio-economic status 
  • Meet the academic requirements:
    1. New student must get a CGPA 3.00 and above in Foundation/Matriculation/STPM or equivalent and must already obtained and offer or registered with the university.
    2. Existing undergraduate student must obtain CGPA 3.00 and above in the previous semester and have at least another year to complete the course.
    3. Passed with distinction in SPM for Bahasa Melayu subject.
    4. Qualifications for medical, dentistry and pharmacy courses must meet the related Professional Bodies requirements.
Benefits
  • Fees and stipend for parents' income less than RM12,000 a month
  • Fees only for parents' income between RM12,001 to RM20,000 per month

EPF Withdrawal
Description
This scheme allows EPF members to withdraw from their Account II for further studies in local or overseas universities for their children or themselves.
Eligibility
  • Parents or students who are EPF members
  • Have sufficient funds in their EPF Account 2
  • Has obtained an offer letter and have registered with the university
Benefits

Savings can be withdrawn from your Account II to cover tuition fees, charges imposed by the institution, hostel/accommodation fees and a one-way flight for first-year students studying abroad.

Progress to the next semester/academic year.
Application process
  1. New students - Obtain an offer letter and pay an initial amount of RM3000. Request for an EPF document from the Sponsorship Unit together with the receipt of the initial payment
  2. Existing students - Confirm your progression status and request an EPF withdrawal document from the Sponsorship Unit
  3. Visit any EPF branch and submit the required documents including the ones issued by the Sponsorship Unit
  4. Send the withdrawal slip to the Sponsorship Unit and Finance Credit Control for evidence of withdrawal 
Additional notes
For reimbursement purposes, applicants must submit their receipt to the Sponsorship Unit upon requesting for the EPF document.
Perkeso/SOCSO Education Loan
Description

This benefit is in the form of loans that may be provided to a dependant child of an insured person who:

  • Dies as a result of employment injury
  • Receives periodical payments for Permanent Disablement Benefit
  • Dies while receiving Invalidity Pension
  • Dies before attaining the age of 60 years but has completed a full or a reduced qualifying period
  • Is an Invalidity Pension recipient

For education benefits at a degree level, borrowers may apply to convert their loans into scholarships if the final academic results fulfil the conditions set by SOCSO.

Loan allocation only covers the education cost which include fee for the first semester, education, examination and lab fee for each semester.

Tinggi-UNM MA Scholarship 2024
Description
Tinggi Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Nottingham Malaysia, is offering a Master’s scholarships for students passionate about making a difference in education. 
Eligibility
  •  Malaysian citizen
  • Only eligible for students pursuing MA in Education or MA in TESOL on a part-time basis
  • Obtained a second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) from an approved university by the University of Nottingham
Benefits
  • 100% off your tuition fees
  • RM1,500 monthly stipend for 2 years 
To retain the scholarship
  • To pursue their Master’s programme part-time
  • The scholarship recipients are required to work 4 days a week, typically from 0730 to 1530, at IDEAS Academy for a duration of two years.

Description

Sarawak Energy Scholarship 2024
Description
Sarawak Energy invites Sarawakian students who excel academically and demonstrate leadership in extra-curricular activities to apply for Sarawak Energy's scholarship programme to help powering their growth towards building a sustainable energy future. The scholarship is extended to pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate students. 
Eligibility

Pre-U (Foundation/A-levels)

  1. 21 years old or below at the time of application
  2. minimum 8As in SPM

Undergraduate

  1. 24 years old or below at the time of application
  2. minimum 8As in SPM or 3.30 CGPA in STPM/Matriculation/Foundation/Diploma
  • Not a recipient of any other scholarship
  • Strong leadership qualities, excellent team players, excel in both extra curricular activities and sports
  • No family member is currently a Sarawak Energy Scholarship recipient

Gamuda Scholarship 2024
Description
Since 1996, the Gamuda Scholarship has paved the way for exceptional young Malaysians to pursue their studies locally and globally. Each year, the Gamuda Scholarship enabled dozens of scholars to study courses of their choice and access reputable universities in Malaysia and abroad.

  • Malaysian IC holder
  • Minimum 3As/CGPA 3.40 in STPM or equivalent
  • Good command in English
  • Strong leadership qualities through active participation in extra-curricular activities, community service and/or sports events

PIDM Undergraduate Scholarship Programme 2023
Description
PIDM's Programme provides financial assistance to Malaysian citizens requiring aid for tertiary education. PIDM is a government organisation that safeguards bank deposits, insurance, and takaful benefits in cases of member institution insolvency.
Eligibility
  • Malaysian citizen under 25 years of age (as of 1 January 2023).
  • Applicants who have completed the Pre-University or are in the final semester of the Pre-University only will be eligible to apply.
  • You must have good academic results in SPM (minimum 5As with credits in Bahasa Melayu and English) and STPM or A-Levels equivalent (minimum 2As). 
  • You must be a full-time student and have gained admission or are waiting for placement into any of the courses which are relevant to PIDM’s business and have been approved and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
  • Have not received any other scholarship, financial aid or award from any institution, organisation or foundation
  • Pursuing courses related to digital skills such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence, Technology Design, Programming, Cyber Security, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Banking and Finance, Statistics, Economics, Accounting and Sustainablity
Benefits
  • Up to RM20,000 a year in course fees or the actual cost, whichever is lower

CIMB ASEAN Scholarship 2024
Description
This scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional students from ASEAN countries in which CIMB has a presence. Kuok Foundation Study Award 2024
Description
Kuok Foundation Berhad offers loan-grant to students who are applying for or currently pursuing their first full-time degree at selected private universities in Malaysia, one of them being UNM. 
Eligibility
  • Malaysian citizen
  • Pursuing their first degree in a private university in Malaysia. The programme must be completed in Malaysia as well
  • Financially deserving
  • Applicants can pursue any course but preferably science-based courses

Up to RM50,000 of tuition fee per annum, depending on the course.
