Before your arrival checklist

Starting university is a big step, and we’re here to help you ease into it. Before the semester begins, there are a few important things to complete.

  1. Book your accommodation
  2. Visa and immigration (for International Students only)
  3. Activate your student IT account and complete registration
  4. Apply for your university card
  5. Pay your tuition fee

1. Book Your Accommodation

Where you will be staying while studying at UNM is crucial. So, if you haven’t secured your on-campus accommodation, then you may do so through the On-Line Accommodation Application (OLAA) portal.

If you have already accepted a room offer with payment, please complete the online check-in form to indicate your arrival date at least 3 working days before arrival (no later than 7:00 PM). Standard check-ins are conducted Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, excluding weekends and public holidays.

However, please note that our office will be open specifically for check-ins on Sunday, 20 September 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

If you plan to arrive earlier than 16 September (between 1 and 15 September 2026), kindly notify the Accommodation Office in advance so that an additional half-month rental invoice can be issued.

Mark your calendar for 1 September 2026 to join our virtual information session for queries regarding check-in, accommodation, food & beverage, transportation, and mail services. The meeting link will be emailed in August 2026 to on-campus residents with confirmed room bookings.

  • Complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online.
  • Check your email for the Airport Arrival Form instructions from the International Student Support team.

3. Activate Your IT Account and Complete Your Registration

Around 4 weeks before your course starts, you’ll get an email with your student ID. Use it to activate your account and access university systems like the NottinghamHub and Moodle.

Once your IT account is active, log into NottinghamHub, go to the ‘Registration’ tile and follow the steps to complete your online registration.

4. Apply for Your University Card

Around 4 weeks before induction, you will receive an email with a step-by-step guide on how to upload your photo and apply for your university card. If you did not receive the email, please contact Student Registry via email.

5. Pay Your Tuition Fee

Once you are done with the registration on NottinghamHub, it is time to finalise your fees including your tuition fees, accommodation fee and others. Payments can be made via the NottinghamHub, bank transfer, credit/debit card or cheque.

Please note that effective 6 July 2025, a 6% Sales and Service Tax (SST) will apply to UNM fees and education-related charges for non-Malaysian students.
