After your arrival checklist
To help you get started, here are the key actions to complete as soon as you arrive:
- Sign and complete final registration
- Health screening (for international students only)
- Final Student Pass Endorsement (for international students only)
- Open a Malaysian bank account (for international students only)
- Collect your university card
- Connect to campus Wi-Fi
- Complete optional course enrolment
- Log into Moodle
- Download the Instatt app for class attendance
- Get involved with the Students’ Association
1. Sign and Complete Your Final Registration
Head over to the Student Registry Office, located on the first floor of Block A. Here, you’ll sign your official registration form to confirm your enrolment. As for Malaysian students, you could sign your official registration form digitally before you arrive.
Once you’ve signed the form, you’ll receive a QR code or link to complete your final verification online. This final step activates your student status in the university system so don’t skip it!
Please note that the Student Registry Office opens from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and is closed on public holiday.
2. Health Screening (For International Students Only)
For international students, you must complete a medical screening at an EMGS panel clinic within 7 days of arriving in Malaysia. No payment is required for this screening which includes a blood test, urine test and chest X-ray. Head over to the International Student Support on the first floor of Block H office to book your appointment.

3. Final Student Pass Endorsement (For International Students Only)
After successfully clearing your post-arrival medical checkup, you are required to submit your passport to the Visa Office for the Student Pass endorsement sticker.
Passports can only be submitted once your medical report is cleared. You will be notified once your passport is endorsed and ready for collection.
4. Open a Bank Account (For International Students Only)
Once you receive your student pass, you can open a local bank account. Visit the International Student Support office at Block H to request a bank letter to open a local bank account. Don’t forget to bring your passport!

5. Collect Your University Card
If you’ve applied for your university card in advance, you can collect it from the Security Office on the first floor of Block H, open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (excluding public holidays).
6. Connect to eduroam Wi-Fi
Stay connected by logging in to the university’s secure Wi-Fi network called eduroam using your university email and password.

7. Complete Course Enrolment (if applicable)
If your programme includes optional modules, you must complete your module enrolment through the Online Course Enrolment (OCE) system during the Change of Mind period. Please plan your module selections carefully, as you can only submit your choices once online. You can complete the enrolment process via the NottinghamHub. 8. Explore Moodle
Moodle is your go-to platform for accessing course materials, announcements, and assignments.

9. Clock in for Classes with Instatt
All taught students are required to record attendance using the Instatt app. Do download the app by searching for UNM Instatt on your App Store for iOS users or Google Play App Store for android users.

10. Get to Know the Students’ Association
Your time at university isn’t just about classes. It’s also about the people you meet, the experiences you have, and the memories you create. That’s where the Students’ Association (SA) comes in.
